Spinner Spinner is a group game for picking a restaurant. It's made by Complete Computing LLC, a Georgia company (“we”). There are no accounts, no logins and no ad tracking, and we don't sell your data.
This policy covers the Spinner Spinner iPhone and Android apps (listed in the stores as Spinner for Dinner) and the web page at spinnerspinner.app where friends join a game without the app.
1.What we collect
| What | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Your first name (up to 20 letters) | So the others in your game know who's who. | On your device, and in the game room while it lasts. |
| A random device ID | So you keep your seat if your connection drops. It isn't tied to your name, phone number or Apple ID. | On your device, and in the game room while it lasts. |
| The game's starting location (the leader's location or typed ZIP code) | To find open restaurants near the group. | In the game room while it lasts. |
| Your location when you look for nearby games | To show games starting within about 100 meters of you. | Used for that lookup only, then discarded. |
| Game activity (filters, spins, vetoes, the final pick) | To run the game. | In the game room while it lasts. |
That's all of it. We don't collect your email, phone number, contacts, photos or payment details.
2.How long we keep it
Each game lives in its own temporary room on our server. The room and everything in it are deleted about 2 hours after the game goes idle. We don't keep a history of games, players or places.
If the leader starts a game using their location, a small listing (the leader's first name and the game's approximate location) is shown to phones nearby so friends can join. It's removed when the first spin starts or the game ends, or after 30 minutes without activity.
Restaurant details from Google are held in memory only while a game needs them. We never store them.
3.Location
- The app asks for location only while it's open (“While Using the App”). It never tracks you in the background.
- We use it to find restaurants and to show games starting nearby. It's sent to our server and to Google Maps Platform (the Places API, which finds the restaurants).
- Prefer not to share it? Type a ZIP code or city instead. We send what you type to Google's Geocoding API to turn it into a map point.
4.Bluetooth
Bluetooth is optional. It's used only to mark a game as “Right here” when you're sitting with the leader's party. The leader's phone broadcasts a short code that changes every minute. Your phone listens for it and sends the codes it heard to our server to match against open games. Nothing is stored, and no Bluetooth data is used for anything else.
5.Who else sees data
Google Maps Platform
Restaurant names, ratings, hours, reviews and photos come from Google. To get them, our server sends Google the game's search location. Restaurant photos load directly from Google's servers, so your device contacts Google when it shows one. Google handles that data under the Google Privacy Policy. By using the maps features you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.
Google AdMob (ads)
The iPhone and Android apps show ads from Google AdMob to keep them free. The web join page has no ads.
- We ask Google for non-personalized ads only. They're chosen by context, not by a profile of you.
- On iPhone, the app never asks to track you, so it doesn't share your Apple advertising identifier (IDFA).
- On Android, Google's ad SDK reads the Android advertising ID for frequency capping, ad measurement and fraud prevention. You can reset or delete it in your phone's Settings under Privacy › Ads.
- In some US states you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for ads. When that choice applies, the app shows a Privacy choices link on its home screen.
- Google may still receive limited device and usage information, like your IP address and device type, to deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's advertising policies.
Cloudflare (hosting)
Our server runs on Cloudflare. Like any web service, it sees your IP address when your device connects. We use IP addresses briefly to limit abuse (for example, too many games created too quickly). We don't save them with your game.
The people in your game
Everyone in a game sees each player's first name, who vetoed what, and the final pick.
6.What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
- We don't build profiles or track you across other apps and websites.
- We don't use analytics or crash-reporting services.
7.Children
Spinner Spinner isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. (The app stores' age ratings are content ratings, not an invitation to younger children.) If you think a child under 13 has used it, email us and we'll help.
8.Where it's available
At launch, Spinner Spinner is available in the United States only.
9.Deleting your data
- Server: there's nothing to request. Game rooms delete themselves about 2 hours after they go idle.
- iPhone: deleting the app removes your saved name. iOS may keep the random device ID in your phone's keychain. It isn't linked to you or to any past game.
- Android: uninstalling the app removes your saved name and device ID.
- Web page: your name and device ID are kept in your browser's storage. Clearing site data for spinnerspinner.app removes them.

10.Changes
If we change how Spinner Spinner handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
